do you go everywhere with a lonely planet or other guidebook and plan your whole trip based on information in that book? you suck! get rid of your guidebooks people!

in all fairness, i used to be one of those people. i'm currently in a lonely planet recovery program and working the steps. it's been about 8 years since i last used one.

If your vacation is a short one, I think LP are the best things going for giving you the essentials.

I usually have a bit of a read before i go to a country and jot down the famous places to check out and then when i get there go to the tourist info place and ask for a brochure and ask people where i am staying where is a decent place to go that is off the beaten track a bit...

I use LP guidebooks. I'm not ashamed to admit it. I use it for info on places to stay. I don't let LP tell me where to go and what to do.

Kangnam is so cool.

He surfs the internet instead of spending time in the real world.

At least he doesn't use a LP.
