I am getting a release letter tomorrow. I am on good trems tith my school here. I have accepted another job, and signed the contract. I am happy. I like the new position.
Problem is I am getting harrased by the recruiter to send them all my documents. I told the recruiter I can not send them any documents because I do not have a release letter.
The recruiter said the school wants me to start earlier then I agreed, but I said my contract has a starting date, and I do not have to sign early.
The recruiter continues to annoy me. Question is: I signed a new contract, but I sent no paper work. Can I just forget that job and take a different one? I have a choice of a few schools.
thanks. |

Umm, not sure. Not enough information. If you signed a contract, they probably want your papers to start the visa process, or at the very least, to show you intend to take the job. I don't know exactly how it works, but can't you send them everything BUT the LOR, with the promise that you will submit it when your current employer gives it to you?
I gues I dont understand. Do you want to walk away? If so, is it because of the recrtuiter being agreessive? Is it because the school wants you to start early? If you don't want the job, or won't start early, it seems a relatively simple matter that they pursue another applicant.
I don't think you have a legal obligation to them if you don't have your visa yet. |

Thank you poet, but I am sure if I asked the question correctly.
I told the recruiter I can send them all my documcents, but they told me that they are useless unless they get the LOR.
I signed a new contract with the new school. But I did not give them any paper work, and I did not send them a release letter. I do not even have the letter yet!
What I want to know is,this: Is the contract I signed binding? Or can I still look for another job since I did not send the recruiter any paperwork.
The school is nice. I liked it. But the recruiter is getting me angry. I do not want to deal with this person again. So, I just want to know do I have to honor the contrat I signed? I sent no one any paper work.
Sorry, in a bad mood. Gotta run, almost late for work.
Thanks again. |

Then stop dealing with him. Get the visa documents directly from the school, with your LOR when you get it, and take them to Immigration yourself. It's not like this recruiter is necessary to get your visa. The process is the same whether he does it or you do it yourself.
The school is good, but the recruiter sucks. The solution is to endrun around the recruiter. Stop answering the phone when the recruiter calls. |

| Ah, a legal opinion regarding your contract. Check back later in the day. Hopefully someone in the know, grotto or ttompatz will hook you up. If you're recruiter is pulling stupid aggro sh!t, I wouldn't worry about it...unless the recruiter is attached to the school. He or she justs wants their money with the least work possible. I have read here that sometimes a recrutier will say, "The school said...." when in fact they said no such thing. It's just the recruiter being pushy. |

Your contract probably has a non-binding clause - something that states that it is not binding until the visa is approved. Don't worry about it.
I think you are confusing the recruiter, who may very well be a pain in the ass but he just wants to make sure he gets paid and you don't choose another job, and the school.
This may be especially true if the school is a hakwon. People dump hakwons for better jobs all the time and the public schools are gearing up now for the new term. They will start hiring again in about 2 weeks.
If you like the school, simply tell the recruiter that you will send the documents when you have ALL of them ready and you are busy so you will talk to him in a few days when you have your LOR in hand.

I took the job. Called the school and told them the recruiter was bothering me. Said I am taking the job,and I would not accept any more of the recruiters calls. Good job, and finished with the recruiter.
Thanks again folks. Merry Christmas |
