Hey

Normally in canada, I get my dad to put my bike away for the winter.

Today I thought I better take her for a rip only to discover she wouldn't start. Sorry to be so ignorant about this problem but what is the best thing to do?

I was told that driving it short distances is also a drain on the battery.

So, if you head out take it out for a real drive. As for packing it away
for the winter. Use up as much gas as you can and refill it again in the
spring and also remove the battery. Finally throw a good tarp over it.

This winter has been unusually warm so it's great that I can still use it to
travel...that is until January!

i dunno if you drive a bike with a clutch. but if you do you can try a second gear push start. i find my battery dies every so often when i don't use my bike for extended periods of time. heres what you do:

- Put the bike in 2nd gear
- DON'T push the starter button
- Make sure the key is ON
- Make sure your kill switch is off (i.e. in the run position)
- Try and move it to a hill of some sort so you can push it downhill. Even a small downgrade helps a lot.
- Make sure the choke is on if the engine is cold

1. Pull in clutch, and push (get a lil bit of speed)
2. When you jump on the bike, At the same time your butt hits the seat, release the clutch
4. Repeat if needed

P.S. Sometimes i don't even bother jumping on the bike.. i can get enough by feathering the clutch to get it started.

Sometimes my moped has trouble starting, so I have to resort to the kickstart method. Just hold the brake and press the ignite button while kicking the bar on the back left side. That seems to give it enough gas to spark a proper fire.

haha. Laughing I've done this many times in cold weather.

Nothing like a bone chilling ride on the bike into the cold Korean night. Cool
