I'm actually pissed they closed the McDonald's in Hongdae. There's no fast food left.
If you go to the park, there's an okay Mexican restaurant visible from the playground equipment. There's also a Thai restaurant. |

Two bucks in a taxi brings you to Ruby Tuesday: Home of the best-tasting burger in Korea.
Thing is, you'd pay more than, say, Geckos, but the thing is SO TASTY!

My GF and I went to that Mexican place. It was dead. We were the only ones in the place. We both ordered the burritos. Feeling like our bill was a bit light, we also ordered some nacho dish from the appetizer menu. The waitress came back and said we could only order the appetizer if we ordered more expensive dishes. *blink*. The burritos appeared to be in the "mains" section. Anyway, we just got up 'n' left. I wouldn't go back to a restaurant that has no customers but refuses money.
Seven Springs is a pretty cool buffet restaurant like Sizzler or VIPS. But they have this great pasta/bread buffet which includes a crepe bar. Yum. |

Margharitas is a pretty decent mexican place
Agio is one of the best moderately priced Italian restaurants in Seoul...it has a nice setting but the one near Jongro is nicer. |

Good, close them everywhere.
There is a Subway restaurant near the uni if fast food is needed, and there are lots of other places that serve food quickly. |

There is a great Italian restaurant in Hongdae called La Lieto. It is near the Gangster ddukboki stand towards club M2. It's a bit behind the street near a bar called taxi. That's the best I can do to describe where it is but if you ask someone to point it out to you from around there they should be able to help you.
There's also a restaurant called Jenny's cafeteria. They serve sandwiches for that are pretty pricey, but good. Decent wine too. It's on the same street as the university entrance, just toward Sinchon a bit.
There's also a great sushi restaurant called Wild wasabi. It's one of those sushi boat places where the plates rotate around on a conveyor belt. Everything is 1000 won a plate, great deal. It's right across from Harlem, near route 66. |

Oh yeah, forgot about Subway.
I can't believe I actually miss the McDonald's. It's just sad seeing everything in Hongdae turning into either a cafe or a shoe store. |

Too true. I was pissed when they turned the pizza by the slice place into a damn shoe store.
- There are two Jenny's Cafes. The second one does pizza and spaghetti. Same high quality ingredients.
- Casa Maya sucks unless you get the fajita or something. Save your cash.
- Greek place at the park. No opinion of it though I've been there a few times. Same with the little Thai place.
- Tikiti or whatever. Fusion ummmmm Southeast Asian. Okay.
- The Indian place by Tinpan is okay but they raised the prices.
- Outback, VIPS, KFC by the subway station.
- Margharitas has gone downhill a bit last I heard. Can't vouch myself but it used to be decent. I think they have two.
- New York Fries is ass. Save your cash. Way too overpriced.
- There are a bazillion sushi joints and izakayas if that's your thing. I found one that does a decent miso ramen but explaining how to get there ain't gonna happen. It's pretty close to Sangsu on a back street if that helps.
- Japanese ramen shop by Far East Broadcasting. Pretty good.
- Sogno next to Twosome Place. Pretty good date place. Decent spaghetti.
That's all I can think of offhand. I know there's more but always forget. |

Greek place by the park stinks, Koreanized Greek food
Thai place nearby is OK
There is a great Tapas place down near Rt 66 on the other side of the street. Expensive but very good
Margharitas is OK for Mexican food in Korea which doesnt say much.
Cant believe all the Japanese places in the area
Of course near the subway station there is an Outback, TGI's and Tony Romas.
I too miss that pizza by the slice place, used to grab lunch there many times.
There is a decent Italian place off one of the side streets before you get to Krispy Kreme.
IMHO Itaewon has better resturants |
