If you had control of a neighbourhood pub, what would you want it to have? I'm asking this because somehow, a friend and I talked the owner of a pub to give us control of it on Saturday nights. Business at her pub is almost nil on Saturday, so she has nothing to lose. We can offer our own food and drink menu, we can play our own music, we may have some live music, I can use the services of bartenders, that have agreed to help out, that are experienced Canadian bartenders, and I can even change the name of the pub on Saturday nights. In order to serve you all better, and for this to work, I would like to know what kind of drinks, food, and anything else that comes to mind, that you would want. Also, what hours would be ideal? 8 p.m. tp 2 p.m.? Please give me your input and suggestions. The test run is tentatively slated for May 14. With that, does anyone know where I can buy some clamato juice and limes?

Incheon. The pub is in the Seo-gu Cheong area. It's understandable that most of you in Seoul wouldn't want to venture that far, but for those of you in Incheon that want a change of scenery, and a place that is as authentically Western as you can have in Korea, you're more than welcome. Well, everybody would be welcome.

As for the clamato, as much as I can buy, as I would like to serve caesars.

Oooo oooo oooo look at me Im Canadian.

Rolling Eyes

My co worker always asks me why Canadians annoy me so much. This is why.

What makes you think anyone would want to drag their canadian flags to incheon to drink some tomato juice and vodka?

Oh wait, my co worker probably would. Geesh. Canadians.

Unfortunately I am Canadian.... but do not associate at all to the canadian flag totting, backpack and birkinstock wearing stereotypes.

eeesh.

I haven't been in Korea for that long, but the experience that my friends and I have had at the bars has been pretty much the same. They don't know how to make martinis, their shooters are pretty much limited, and the highballs aren't quite the same. This is an opportunity to have such a place. As the title of this thread indicates, all ex-pats are welcome, not just Canadians. Americans, Aussies, Kiwis, Brits...anyone. You can even bring your Korean English speaking friends who would love a place to go, hang out and talk with other people in English.

Beaver's Wings did it right. We could make most anything.

I would have to agree with the Beaver. Beaver's Wings did it right...man I miss that place when is it coming back? I am not sure where to get clamato juice but wold also love to have some. I am in nowon-gu so definitley too far for me to venture to Incheon but good luck I hope it works out for you. A combo of live music and a cool dj between sets would probably liven the place up.

Good luck to the OP. From what I've read by most posters who know, Incheon could use all the livening-up it can get.

Idea As a special incentive for people making the long haul, how about "first 7 martinis/shooters on the house" for anyone with a Seoul address on their ARC?

*EDIT*--- Beaver, I keep reading glowing testimonials of what you did right at your place. So, why isn't it still a going concern? Is there some "tell-all" thread buried in the archives where you discuss why you closed Beaver's Wings?

Beaver why do you always talk about how great your bar WAS... it isn't around anymore so it couldn't have been that great.
