Hey,
Well, I'm new to Busan, and English teaching in general and I'm looking for some people to meet, drink and be merry with. I'm not exactly looking forward to spending Christmas all by my lonesome. I'm the only foreign teacher at my school, so I've meet absoulutly noone yet and I'm starting to feel the infamous "Korean blues"
Yeah, so any advise/contacts would be much appreciated. I'm into music, minimal electronic-idm and rock stuff mainly but I like it all really. What are some cool bars, are there any cool "foreign type bars in Busan and where the hell are they?
Also, one question, what's the penalty for breaking a contract. I'm not really digging my job at all and I'm thinking about trying to get another position with a school in Seoul, is there anything that the school can do to me?
Thanxs

busan's big. where you live determines where you will hang mostly.
breaking a contract at this point (if you can actualy get bossman to agree) will cost you money.
also, like homeboy said. pusanweb.com |

I am fairly new to Busan, too. I have tried Pusanweb, but haven't really gotten anywhere. Any more suggestions? |

Ol' 55 and Vinyl Underground in Kyungsung.
U2 in Haeundai.
Moe's and Sole Train in PNU.
O'Briens - I think it's in Seomyeon.
Trivia night is good in Haeundai. I forget the name of the place though. It's on P-Web.
Those are all places with loads of foreigners in exactly the same boat you're in. Hope you like alcohol and cigarette smoke. Otherwise, your S.O.L.

Following has the directions (and a photo of the place):
http://www.obriens-bar.com/location/busan.htm
From that link:
Location
Busan O'Briens is very easy to get to, in the Gaya part of the city.
It's on the left just 20 metres
straight out of Exit 2 at Gaya
subway station (number 221)
on the green line. |
