I've been offered a job at a "private-public school" that is overseen by the government or something. It looks like a nice operation, it's definitely not going out of business anytime soon, but I am a little skeptical. Salary is really good, but it is far from where I'd like to be. It's at Kyungbok Elementary School in Achasan, near children's grand park. Anyone worked there? |

Some 'private' schools (like mine) are basically identical to public schools but in addition to all the other educational bereaucracy there's a private board that directs some matters at the school.
Some 'private' schools really are private schools and teach the government curriculam as a minimum and charge the parents tuition. If they're elementary schools the sign is usually the kids wearing uniforms if it's an elementary school. If the kids at your prospective school wear uniforms, that's probably what it is. From people I know who like elementary I've heard that these are usually better than public schools. |
