I have spent this afternoon (between christmas food cooking breaks) looking at positions in Korea.
Daves, TEFL.com, some others that escape me now.
Is there actually any positions out there where they want an experienced teacher? Or are the only people hiring the ones who want a nice green newbie who can be manipulated easily?

On a side note. Are there any positions going for teaching science in English. It's my main role out here in Thailand and I would love to carry it on if I could. |

Universities prefer someone with experience. I am not sure about teaching science in English. Do you have a master's in that area?
Some academies here have you teach science in English, but I don't know much about it. It is kids' science. I would be quite careful before accepting any position over here. Make sure you check the school out thoroughly. |

There are usually a few schools in Seoul that want teachers other that basic english teachers. I was going to teach science/math in Seoul but the main problem with that job was Seoul. Who the hell wants to live there?
Even if you have no experience you still have experience. My first resume had tutoring, ski instructor and roller-blade instructor as experience...lol. |

Yes there are. However, many of those places do not advertise widely for job openings or do so at specific times of the year.
International schools are one of those places but you need a Teachers Liscence to get a job there (you must be an accredited teacher back home).
Some of the better schools do prefer experienced and qualified teachers and a lot of them hire from referals from current staff before posting any online ad.

You should try these Samyook schools. They have these immersion programmes for children in which they learn all subjects in English, not just English. My friend was teaching science, maths, etc. in English. |
