When I was a kid, I'd be damned if my father let me get out of the house in January or February without snowpants and a touque/beanie. And I would like to thank the old guy for instilling that in me. I dont care if its cold or not, i walk out of the house every morning with gloves and a hat (grew out of the snowpants!) and im prepared.
Then we got here! OMG! I see adults walking down the street with their jackets wide open, their chests exposed, no gloves or hats on! WTF PEOPLE! And then they come to work, sniffle and sneeze, and then you get coughed on without a hand over the mouth. FREAKING DISGUSTING! Oh and the chapped lips....is that GLUE OR DEAD SKIN! And then you here "Chup-tah!" (korean for cold)....DO UP YOUR JACKET NUMBNUT!
Just a rant folks...but seriously though, 2 and 2 is 4...but not here it seems...

nnneeeeeeeewwwwwwbiiiiiieeeee.
Kimchi cures everything. Kimchi prevents everything before it happens too. So a Korean can walk around naked in a snowstorm and as long as he or she tucks into some kimchi after, all is good. |

| It's not that cold yet. I went to work today with my jacket open and no hat, although the hat did go on later. It all depends on where you are from and you tolerance for the cold. Also, being cold doesn't make you sick, viruses make you sick. Using your body's energy and immunities to keep warm makes you more vulnerable to viruses, but if you eat right (Kimchi!!!!!! really, I hate it), you can be cold and not become sick. |

Leebumlik69 your cool in my books....listen up poet13, dont be such a clown a$$. I have been in Korea for a while. If you have been here for a while too, you would save your righteous Newbie comments. That stuff is for guys who are into Frats and what not. People like you just aren't cool.I was just pointing out how unprepared Koreans are for cold and thanking my father for preparing me.
Leebum, dig the avatar....nice-uh

When I was growing up, we kids were hardened by icy cold winters that lasted for months. I often wore a windbreaker, because the winter coat my mom bought for me just wasn't stylish enough.
Anyway, OP, you do sound a little wet behind the ears. People do that same sh*t in every country. |

First, it's not exactly cold yet. Second, you don't get a cold virus from cold weather, you get it from being exposed to a host, someone who has it already and passes it on to you, usually, through the ear canal. |

Jeebus man, don't be bringing science and yer fancy book learnin to yet another generalisation on the behavior of the Korean species! You might shock the posters.
Anyhoo, I am from Queensland, hottest f*ckin place on earth. Until this week I was out in just a leather jacket and t-shirt. Why you ask? Coz I am from Queensland and am hard as f*ckin nails that's why. Cold be damned, its mind over matter and the Koreans know it too. Why else would they turn all the heaters on when its still summer outside in mid september? Coz they are hard little buggers too and they couldn't give a festering dingo's bumhole what the seasons (all four, count them!) have to say about it!
On a more serious note, I am recommending this for most ludacrous post of 2006. |

How do you get crack in Korea? Because clearly you are smoking too much before you post.
Anyway, Koreans don't wear winter hats because it will mess up their hair. It's their vanity that keeps them from wearing hats. Sometimes you WILL see a winter hat, but it's usually worn as part of some hiphop kids' fashion getup. Gloves? I dunno. Seems every other street vendor sells them, but I rarely see a Korean wearing 'em. |

One pickled radish short of a full meal.
Also, not very cold yet. Well, it wasn't until yesterday around 2pm when it suddenly became much colder. |
