Won't work.
Most (but not all) are the wrong technology (GSM as compared to CDMA).
The cell frequencies (phone to tower radio frequencies) here are DIFFERENT than in the states.
Short answer, your U.S. CELL phone WILL NOT work in Korea. Satellite phones do but are very expensive.
Buy your phone here. Decent used ones can be had for as little as $30. |

You sure of that response?
My TMobile motorola v188 worked fine in China, Hongkong, Thailand.
I just had to do 2 things - unlock it and put in a local sim.
Unlock code came from TMobile tech support via email.
Does Korea use SIM card in their phones? |

| My Motorola Krzr (CDMA) SK Telecom T-Mobile phone I bought here says that I can use international roaming in the US, Philippines, China, Japan, Thailand and other countries. |
