I plan on taking a 3/4 day trip to Hong Kong and then another 3/4 days in Singapore. No advice needed about these destinations.
After that I want to find a quiet beach (no night life required) and stay there for about half a month. I will be going with my wife.
Location Requirements:
It must be located in SouthEast Asia
It must be fairly cheap to stay there half a month
Running water, air con and flush toilets a must
clean beaches
I hope to hear some suggestions.. |

I'd simply suggest Thailand. Koh Samui or Phuket are popular destinations, however, each one has a ton of other places nearby that you can easily get to. Each offers a backpacker scene and a family scene. Each has crowded areas and areas where you rarely ever see another human being. Everything you want for a perfect holiday getaway...
Personally, I can't say anything bad about Thailand's beaches. Just go! |

Perhentian islands Northeast Malayasia just an our from the Thai border.
Two islands, no roads or traffic. You have to take a boat to your hotel or bungalow. This area is mostly Muslim so not much nite life but there are several resorts within close proxmity on the smaller quiter island so a variety of restaurants accomadation and price ranges. There are very nice beaches and great snorkelling right from shore. Tons of marine life and some nice coral. Second island has cheaper digs and caters more to backpakers but still supposed to be very nice. My wife loves it there. i like it too but find it a little quiet after a week. Easy to do a search. you can get there from Thailand or Malaysia. |

If you plan on going during winter vacation, don't go here, it is the monsoon season and the water isn't great for swimming and visibility is low if you like scuba diving. |

Phu Quoc in Vietnam might fit the bill. Worth checking out. |

Its a bit of a bee-atch to get to but HoiAn in Vietnam. You have to fly into Danang (located right in the middle of Nam), and its a 15min ride from the airport, but what beautiful town! The beach is 3 km out of town, but rent a little scooter while your there... Beach is dead pan quiet, and in town there are over 200 tailor shops who will make anything at a very very cheap price...im sure your wife will love that. You do need a visa for Vietnam, but i have read about HoiAn in National Geographic Traveller and they give 4.5 stars. I have been there myself and its a gem. The town is littered in French buildings and the Choc au Pain rocks!
Good luck in your choices but if you go here you wont regret it...you have my word
