soo I'm going to Thailand on sat with a one way ticket and I'm going to go where the wind takes me. But now I've realized I really shyould have taken malaria pills. I was starting to think I wanted to go to Cambodia and maybe Vietnam and now I'm questioning if I even should or not....

hmmm is it too late to take them I wonder>>

Depends which parts of cambodia and vietnam you are going to. Phnom Penh and Siem Reap are malaria-free, as are many of the main centres in Vietnam.

I think I'd rather catch malaria than go on those dreaded pills.

Most travelers to Thailand are not at risk for malaria and do not need to take an antimalarial drug. Travelers to the border areas of Cambodia, Laos, and Burma should take an antimalarial drug.

Travelers to malaria-risk areas in Thailand should take either atovaquone/proguanil or doxycycline as their antimalarial drug. Mefloquine is no longer recommended for Thailand.

I don't think you need it, but you could still take doxycycline.
