I was wondering is anyone knew where Daejeon-Noeun is. I tried looking for a map in english, but can't seem to find one that breaks down the neighborhoods. I believe it is in Yuseong-gu, but not sure where. I would like to find out where it is in relation to the rest of the city, like downtown, the nightlife and so forth. I just got a job offer from CDI, yes I know, and am trying to find out more info about where I might be living. Thanks in advance for all responses. |

It is in Yuseong - it's actually right where the World Cup Stadium is. There is a huge produce market there as well.
They are building the subway, although there is a bottleneck right now: they are not sure if they should build the tracks UNDER the river or OVER the river... you'd think they would have thought about it prior to the beginning of the whole construction!!!!! LOL.
Anyway, with subway etc. downtown will take just 15 minutes. It's the opposite side of downtown, to be honest.. but there is Koong-dong (or Gung-dong, both same), which is a student centred area, as KAIST is right next door.
Look at www.socius.org for more info on Daejeon.
p.s. I work at Noeun right now. It has many shops and loads of apartments!!! |

Socius is good, and check out expatskorea, too - http://tinyurl.com/y4ktpl
You will also want to take a visit to Santa Claus, located in Gung-dong. It's the ex-pat bar in the area. |

it's www.socius.or.kr , give me a holler when you're in Daejeon! Would love to chat/meet up... I like No-eun dong much more than anyother place in Daejeon.. it's newer, more spacious and away from the humdrum... not like near expo-park.
tzechuk, thanks for the lowdown on the subway... tch.. tch.. the word should be _planning_! |

Thanks for all the replies so far. I haven't signed the contract yet, but will probably do so soon. Does the subway serve Noeun-do right now, or are the building to it like tzechuk said. Any other info on what there is to do in Daejeon would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. |
