The weather in New York has been unseasonably warm this year. What about where you live? |

I live in Korea. It's not that cold here, really. I saw an ajumma crossing the street tonight carrying a food tray on her head and marvelled that the metal was not freezing her bare hands. |

Last year at this time we had a 40cm snow storm. This year, it's 8-10 degrees (mid-40'sF).
So much for a white Christmas. |

Blah.
What's the point of being in the Northern Hemisphere for Christmas if it isn't going to snow?! I might as well be on a beach back home.
If only last weekend was Christmas..... |

Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody ever does anything about it ... I think Mark Twain said that, or maybe Albert Speer. Or maybe Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass.
Or maybe not. |

Nowhere near as cold as last year. Today and yesterday were well above 0c and very tolerable. Of course in Korea this means a cold blast is round the corner, followed by days of mild again. I'm surprised how well I cope with Korean winter. Last winter there were only 4 or 5 days that were too much. Like everything else here, it's abslutely piss easy, a breeze. |

The Northern Wind from Siberia has kicked in, and once again, I remember why I subconsciously shiver when I think about Seoul in winter. |

Just as I predicted, the glorious cold has kicked in. But it's only -8c.
Last winter, the extreme-cold spells kicked in much earlier. |

Definitely not here to stay, TM.
It was cold yesterday, so 2 days more cold (decreasingly so) and then mild again for 4 more days (typically) and - CRUSH! - it'll be back and colder than now.
삼한사온 in my beloved hangoong-mal....literally "3 cold 4 mild". This explains Korean winter.
I love living in a country that has predictable weather! |
