To qualify for the crown of media ho, one must have been in the media spotlight at one time or another and either misses no chance to jump back into it OR is always in it without trying but craves the attention to the max. The person cannot be someone whose job makes it unavoidable, such as a political leader, unless that leader is no longer in power or their power is waning.

Who would you vote as Media Ho 2006? (this is not gender specific)
Very briefly justify your choice. Biting sarcasm is most welcome.

Here are the nominees (in no particular order):

Madonna Brittany Spears Jessica Simpson Justin Timberlake
Jennifer Lopez Donald Trump Rosie O'Donnell Jimmy Carter
Al Sharpton Larry King Oprah Winfrey Jerry Springer
Paris Hilton Ivanka Trump Beyonce Knowles Simon Cowell
Lindsey Lohan Cameron Diaz Saddam Hussein Angelina Jolie
Tom Cruise Nicole Ritchie Bill Clinton O.J. Simpson

You get the idea.

Feel free to add a name if you don't find your pick among this list.

Any couple with those stupid F'n nicknames, like Brangelina or TomKat. The nicknames are not necessary EXCPT for overhyped media blitzes.

Octavius:

Ya know, I forgot about Karr, maybe because he's so forgettable personally, but yeah, he was eager to get on Larry King Live after being acquitted, or released, or whatever they decided to do to his sorry a*ss.

Almost thought he was doing some weird postmodern, post-traumatic, postal form of video therapy for himself because he still looks and acts like a pedophile to me. And now he's living with his rich dad in Georgia. I think he might be wimposexual.

thebum:

Saddam's courtroom antics certainly makes him a good candidate.

Young Frankenstein:

Typical American media blather to use cutsy compound words like TomKat, but then it's fitting in a way for describing vapid people. Anyhow, Tom Cruise is high on my list: jumping on Oprah's sofa like a junior high boy that just got his first French kiss, lashing out at Brooke Shields for using meds to deal with her postpartem depression and again with Matt Lowry on NBC, and staging his wedding in Italy. If he's not the Ho of the Year, he's definitely the Pimp.

Aren't we forgetting our Korean friends? Number one on the Media Ho list would be Moon Geun-young. I swear, is there NOTHING she is not willing to put her face on TV for and sell?

Hey,

I'm glad someone brought up this topic. I think that the three top media hoes are Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Nicole Ritchie (Britney comes in at a close fourth). It seems that no matter what form of media I look at, these four are always there. I'm sick of seeing their faces! (maybe that's why they've decided to flash their snappers to the world instead).

Linsay Lohan is still quite young, yet already looks like a coug. Paris Hilton has the intellect of a hamster. Nicole Ritchie is gradually disappearing, and Britney Spears continues to show her true white trash roots on a daily basis. See! Even I'm talking about them and I can't stand them. Damned media....

Tough...

I would go with Britney flashing her coochie for the cameras. That moment existed purely for exposure. She was pretty coked up though.

Paris Hilton, she's maybe toned it down but she still exists.Somehow.For some reason.Coked up too.

Have to say Tom Cruise jumping on the couch.Primarily because he wasn't under the influence and it was such a calculated move to garner attention. He went from douchebag to ho' in that moment with his s-hit eating grin.

"They're buying it!I'm performing,I'm performing......"

Tom Cruise was last year. This year he lost his major movie contract and basically became unemployed.

For this year, I'd have to say Britney Spears has made the biggest jump. Paris and the others are the quintessential media whores, but they were already. Britney got pregnant a second time, supported her husband's music career, dumped him (while he was on TV), started hanging out with Paris, and then, finally, showed off her snatch. Keep in mind earlier this year she was the symbol of family values thanks to some nutjob making a statue of her giving birth (which means I saw her vagina long before she got in that limo), and five years ago she was America's celebrated virgin princess. She went from that to rich trailer park *beep*.

rothkowitz:

Yeah, that was calculated on his part, I think. I think he's made one great film, Born on the Fourth of July. So he compensates with showmanship.

Lao Wai:

"intellect of a hamster" Smile

Nicole Ritchie is completely classless: in fact, she comes across as a street ho with her filthy mouth on that lame show of hers. But then her Daddy is a pimp spending most of his time with real hos.

ALL:

What is it about East Asian pop stars hogging the limelight? It's not just Korea, you see the same faces in umpteen commercials, even in mainland China.

I was shocked to discover that acting in a commercial is considered legitimate work in Korea. Girls who've been in one commercial their entire lives will barge around shouting "Don't you know who I am?"

Remember that if you're a popstar, you're cast in movies, and if you're a movie actor, you get a music contract. This is common in every East Asian country I'm aware of.
