Hi Ladies,
I want to float an idea past you. As we're getting to be a bit of a big group the only resturant that can really take us now is the Thai Orchid. The lunches there are usually about 20k. It's a nice place and the lunches there have been successful.

However I want to put up an extra idea. Are you willing to shell out an extra 10k for nicer surroudings and a higher standard of food?

I have talked with the executive chef at the sky lounge in the Intercontinental Hotel in COEX. For 30k we can have a salad buffet with soup and the dessert buffet with a choice of 3 a la carte menu items + tea and coffee. The food really is top notch and my veggie friend who was there found more than enough to eat.

And it's a beautiful venue. Here's a view from a lunch I went to on Sunday.

So what say you ladies?

Does anyone know the phone number of the Korean Human Rights Commission? I want to report a sexist organization that is holding regular meetings.

I think it is a great location. I have been there two times already and it is an amazing place.

I am in 30K is more than reasonable for the locale.

Try 1-800-whineboy.

Frankly the ladies lunches are successful because we don't have to worry about how we will be reviewed. While many of the men on this board are great....too many would make it into a....man western chicks are fat or ugly or mean or blah blah blah.

Set up your own get togethers.

It is really helpful for women especially here to be able to network, speak freely and not have to worry about whether we are going to be raked over the coals about how we look on this board. And if you have the gall to deny that it doesn't happen frequently you are simply being obtuse or stupid.

Sorry to be so blunt but that is why alot, not all, women do not attend the Dave's functions, that include the gentlemen, these events do not usually include very many of the women here. At the ladies luncheon functins we have the opportunity to be ourselves and relax.

Over 40 women came to the last function at Thai Orchid. I have never been to any other function that has been so successful.

Kudos CLG!

Jade

i don't care where it is, really. i think it would be better in a more open area where i don't feel like a total ass for trying to socialize with all the tables. oh, and i think booze would lighten the mood.

Yes, good point. Lots of room to circulate would be good.

This place is very roomy. You can also buy booze there if you so desire though I will warn you that it will be somewhat pricey for any drinks a la carte!

Booze is available but would not be part of the 30K you can buy your own drinks. I am not a drinker so I don't care. But the drinks there are expensive.

I prefer the nice location, good logistics and over the top food. I am not one to drink at lunch anyway. So I don't care about the drinks.

I love you, jade! I was sorry you weren't at the last luncheon. =(

COEX would rock. I would travel a little farther to go there. Btw- there are 2 Intercontinentals in that location, so some ppl might get confused (it happened to me once before!) so some might need specific directions. ^~

*Edit* Can't type properly....

I would love to go. The intercontinental is great idea. I'm actually going to make the trip to Seoul from down south this time. Any ideas on when in February? (Crossing my fingers for the 1st or 2nd Saturday...)

I am definitely in! A buffet style is a great idea, Jess and I were discussing it last time. It will give more opportunities for socialization.
Plus the view looks great, and I am never above pampering myself. Laughing
I'm in and I'm sure Jess will be too!!
I get back from Bali February 8th, so I hope it will be after that! Cheers!
