Hi,

I have a favour to ask - what is the last 'teachable' page in the following books:

Backpacks 1, 2, 3 & 4, Phonics A and Grammar Links Basic?

I ask because I need to make a lesson plan and forgot to note how many pages each book has (stupid me!).

Thanks alot!

I have no idea how many pages there are in the Backpack books, but I assume it varies slightly. If it helps I think each book has 8 units? I don't remember, even though I'm currently teaching out of Backpack 6.

The nice thing about the Backpack series though, is that you can stretch out the units for as long or as short as you want. I've taught a unit in as few as 3 and as many as 6 days.

Thanks for the input oneofthesarahs, but unfortunately I don't remember how long each unit is! No big deal anyway...
If someone does have any of them laying around it'd just make things a bit easier for me Wink

gmat, thanks! I've PM'd you..

It might be around 112 pages. I usually spend about 2 weeks per unit. There is so much stuff to add to make it more exciting. Backpack is so dull!!

Backpack usually has 8 or 9 chapters. I find, depending on my pacing, 1 unit = 2 classes. You can also stretch it out to 3 classes with some talking and fluff. Mind you, we don't do any of the listening stuff. No CDs and I don't do the games and art projects.

But the games and the art projects are the only entertaining things in the whole darn book.
