I am getting ready to choose my job and was wondering where might be the best places to live if I wanted to be within reasonable distance of hitting the slopes on weekends? I know it is not a real big country but what might people recommend?

You can live anywhere in Korea and go to the slopes on the weekends. Some are 1.5 hours or less from Seoul while others are over 3 hours, all accessible by bus.

If you want to live near a ski resort, you'll be living in a rural area. Muju has nice ski resorts around it.

I'd call the tourism number and check bus schedules. If you can get there in the morning and go home at night you don't have to pay for a hotel.

Call the tour2korea number during the day to get a local person. They can help you with bus schedules for regular buses and I'm pretty sure all the resorts have special shuttles.

There is also a link to my recent skiing posts. -Jeff
