Where can I buy fake (but good quality) watches in Seoul? Anybody know?
And if so, how cheap are they? Comparable with China or others? |

Why not try a real designer item? I bought a Cartier wallet for 500,000 won in 2000, and it's still very nice. |

How do you know it is the real thing?
And more importantly, why do you think it was worth 500,000? |

Nothing wrong with purchasing a designer item every now and then. If you have the money to do it, and you aren't going beyond your means or throwing yourself into debt, what's to stop you from doing it?
It may seem stupid to some people, but there is an attraction to designer items that some people have, and in some cases their quality is outstanding.
Just because your own budget or ethical code doesn't warrant the purchase of designer items doesn't mean other people can't. |

Its not that its stupid or immoral or lack of money... But for alot of us the idea of designer stuff really doesnt compute. Its like you live in a world with different laws of physics. I dunno maybe its a left brain right brain thing. I can understand paying for durability, but paying for a design is like taking 20 dollars and buying a durable non-designer thing then literally flushing another 80 down the toilet. Dont get me wrong, my wife is on your side of the table.
For example: I had a wallet for 25 years which I got in Hawaii for like $3 when I was a kid, damn thing was ugly as hell, but ya know what it served the purpose even after all those years. Yet, like 2 weeks after meeting my future wife, she had decided it was a travesty and purchased a 150 dollar mid-low level designer replacement. To me the thing has no extra value (beyond the fact that my wife bought it for me) then the ugly 3 dollar thing- it serves the purpose of keeping my money in an organized spot. |

Yes. But if you dont have designer stuff how can you fill that void in your meaningless life. If you dont have designer stuff people wont ogle you and think you are rich and cool. Without designer stuff you cant feel better than other people. |

Brands become so because they're well made.Prestige comes after that.
Could someone answer the OP's question? |

I'm not absolutely sure, but I think I saw some fake watches on display where the Chinese Embassy used to be. Anyway, I'm not sure as I didn't pay that much attention. Next time you go to Myeongdong you might want to take a look around. They have few Chinese stores that may have what you are looking for. |

I went with a Korean friend once to Itaewon and that's where she bought her top quality LV knock offs. You basically have to let someone approach you. You're then led down into an alley and into a basement not unlike the mildewy basements I spent many a dank summer getting my Level 1 Gnome Illusionist to Level 8. All can be had there.
In short, I think if you want to buy the really high end, grab a Korean friend armed with her fake LV bag and hit Itaewon. |

I bought a street watch in the Myeong Dong a few months ago and the metal clasp broke in like 4 days. |

Really? That's too bad. You get what you pay for, eh? Anyway, I wasn't talking about those people who sell on the streets. I was referring to a (Chinese?) store that has watches on a display. Those cold be fake and who knows what they have inside? |
