For those who do end up making a career of teaching in Korea.. what kind of pension would we eventually get? |

First of all, make sure your pension is actually taken out of your salary. Some private hagwon owners try to not follow the law and pay it. Some of them do and some of them don't. Your pension is 4.5% of your salary that you contribute every month, and your employer must match it. I would also make sure your employer is not underreporting your pension. So, I would call various offices while I am working there with an idea of the calculation to make sure the boss is calculating right. Take it from people who've been around. |

Man, you and I must be thinking about the same things right now!
This is something that I've been considering over the last year. It's time to get this sorted out - do I go back and earn a pension or stay in Asia and invest and save? That's the big dilemma. |
