This just in

At least 12 people have been hurt in four explosions in the Thai capital, Bangkok, reports quoting police say.
The blasts took place within 90 minutes of each other, with the first one at the Victory Monument in the centre.

Further explosions were reported at two police posts in Bangkok's northern suburbs and in the Klong Tuey area.

Thailand's prime minister was ousted in a military coup in September while the country's south has seen a wave of attacks blamed on Muslim separatists.

Police are investigating suspicious packages found at another six locations in the capital, a police spokesman told the iTV television network.

That's what i thought initially, but the place did go through a military coup a few months back. I'm glad none of my mates are there at the moment anyways.

It was a peaceful coup, though. Didn't they usurp the government while the PM was away? Plus you didn't see any Buddhists bombing the place.

Muslims have been creating violence in Thailand for quite awhile now. What a ridiculous ideology they have. I know it's unPC, and not all Muslims are violent, yada yada yada.. Everywhere Muslims go, they cause trouble. Forget about it.

how about the fact the muslims in the south are actually oppressed. no money from the government. have you seen a thai mosque compared to a buddhist temple? fark, where's the money going? certainly not to the mosques. gold-leafed-plated blatency should enrage anyone who's oppressed.

it's mad how the 'muslims' get the backhand of all these radical tragedies. i was in bali when those bombs went off. the general indoneisan consensus? a group of morons farked up, farking up our businesses for at least a year.

still no excuse for it though.

Yes...it IS unPC...but I could not agree with you more!! If they're in such a hurry to get to their 72 (?) virgins, why don't they just kill each other and speed the process!!??

You got me there, but can you blame me for assuming it was Muslims? Look at this Wikipedia page.

From the page:

After the September 2006 coup
A brief lull in the insurgency followed the 19 September 2006 coup that overthrew the government of Premier Thaksin Shinawatra. As Army Commander Sonthi Boonyaratkalin settled into his role as head of the junta, violence resumed.

On 21 September, 2 villagers were shot in Yala, killing one and wounding another.[21]
On 23 September, 4 policemen were injured in a bus stop explosion in Pattani. The bus stop was on a road that would be passed by the motorcade of Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn later that afternoon.[22][23]
On 25 September, 2 police stations and a military outpost were attacked by 30 gunmen in a coordinated series of attacks in Yala, leaving 2 dead and 1 injured.[24]
On 27 September, gunmen killed a grocer and two of his customers in Muang district of Yala and a traveller on the bus from Panare district to Mayo district of Pattani.[25]
On 28 September, a teacher protection unit in Sungai Padi district of Narathiwat province was ambushed by a bomb attack, seriously injuring 4 soldiers and killing one.[26]
On 4 November, three schools burned to the ground and a person received a gunshot injury.[27]
On 9 November, 8 car and motorcycle showrooms were simultaneously bombed in Yala, injuring 13. Almost all gold shops in Muang district closed down for fear of their safety. Commercial banks remained opened but with tightened security.[28]

That makes a total of what, seven attacks in about 4 months?

When you are walking down the sidewalk and see someone coming at you, I wouldn't blame you for assuming the other person will swerve to their right. A minor bump. No harm done.

When murder is involved, like in Bangkok, yes I think it is appropriate to blame someone who just shoots off his mouth and blames the Moslems.

My opinion about Islam remains.

I hate it just a wee bit more than Christianity and Judaism.
