Not sure if my school is open tomorrow. I SHOULD know this but...Their english is vague and I'm not 100% sure. Is anybody working tomorrow? Kinda feel like an idiot.

No way !!
I don't think anybody work on Jan 1, all business will close, the street of major cities is going to be dead, except theaters.

Both December 25 and January 1 are statutory holidays. Stay in bed, and if your work phones you and asks why you're late, just moan into the phone "But it's New Year's Day." If they insist you come in, quit.
