Anyone else having problems with TVU?

All through October and most of November it worked fine. Now,I watch 5 minutes of a hockey game and it freezes up.

Sorry, but they are not broadcasting anymore hockey games on TVU. This would be totally devasting, but I am a canucks fan.

Glad you brought this up. Bloody yes, I'm having problems. Where, to quote Pete Seeger, have all the good stations gone? I though this TVU doohickey was quite a find once upon a time.

Really...

No more ESPN or ABC. No NHL channel. All the Chinese crap you'd want to watch, though.

I'm not getting my money's worth! Laughing

I was accessing American TV news via viidoo.com but that connection was abruptly severed a couple of weeks ago. Anybody know why?

I'm not the smartest when it comes to computers...Can I download sopcast if my WinAmp trial has expired? Can I get another "evaluation period" or do I have to buy it? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a whirl. I notice it has a Chinese webpage too and the English page has Chinglish, which tells me it's (illegally?) based in mainland China. But if it gets me free access, I'm for it. Same with the Chinese DVDs. They're down to less than a buck a copy; two bucks for best quality.

TVU definitely has legal issues. They claim that they have a right to broadcast network shows as long as they include all the commercials, but most of the networks they've carried have denied permission.
All the NBC affiliates are the latest to be deleted from their program list.

They still carry CBS and FOX, and Comedy Central, though. For news, they're down to Fox News and Bloomberg. They have an interesting new sport's channel, though, O TSN, which carries a variety of live sports including NBA games, hockey, English Premier league, and college bowl games. Here's their Jan. 1 schedule:

I'm watching my Badgers on ABC right now. Slingbox is heaven-sent for travelers. Watching real Sportscenter every night is priceless this time of year. Now it's available in most English-speaking countries.

Pony up the greenbacks and pay for it--it's impossible to regret it right now. Just make sure you get at least 300k upload speed from the host connection for decent quality. If only my connection back home was as fast as my Korean connection!
