"Why 0.8%?" was asked me by one of the people here and all I can say is that if you don't know I'll surely tell you.

You see, I spent a long time in Korea and am now in China. So this is why I say that just 0.8% Canadians being here is of import.

By 0.8% I don't have to put up with anti-American naysayers.
By 0.8% there's no one-upmanship from pseudo-intellectuals.
By 0.8% there's no fear of wannabees.
By 0.8% the Koreans are squelched from existence.
By0.8% I don't feel-alas-THAT I SHOULD JOIN THE kOREAN BANDWAGON-BUSH BASHERS AND HATE SOMETHING IMAGINARY BECAUSE IT MAKES THEM BELIEVE THEY'RE SOMETHING OR IN A FAIRYTALE LAND WITHOUT FEAR OF THE DARK LORD UP NORTH!!
By 0.8% I mean they're insignificant, and of no significance whatsoever to the Chinese.

What the hell....I'll take a shot. 1) By generalizing about Canadians, you're just as bad as people who generalize about America. It's best not to make assumptions based upon generalizations and stereotypes. 2) Pseudo intellectuals and wannabees are not limited to any one nationality.
3) There are many people, from many countries, that do not like America/Americans for one reason or another, including...China. I'm not saying this is right, I'm just stating a fact. 4) If you can support Bush and all the stuff he pulled...heaven help you.
Rolling Eyes

Finally, yes as another poster mentioned, Norman Bethune did do some nice things for the Chinese, and he was Canadian. I realize this will probably fall on deaf ears, but I'm secretly an optimist by nature. Enjoy your new year.

When you wake up, drink a lot of water. Trust me, it will help your hangover disappear faster. Farktard.

I actually thought the 0.8% was referring to blood-alcohol level. I guess it kind of was.

Norman Bathoon? It's Norman Bethune.

But, since we're in Korea, you might want to talk about Francis Schofield, the '34th man' of the Korean Declaration of Independance.

Most canadians I meet never give a crap about making money..they're into the "adventure" or whatever. I am sure there are a few who are making real dosh...but the large majority aren't as far as I've seen. I think thats the reason why they outnumber Americans 3-1 in this country. It's a win-win situation for the hagwon owners...keep them here..spending money and make sure they aren't making any.
