Well it's confession time. This is the story of someone who turned out to be a really bad hogwan clown / monkey / mascot / games leader / muppet. I really wish that someone had told me that Crap Hogwan made a typo when they put 'teacher' in their ad. I also wish they had given me some idea of how young the youngest kids I'd be teaching would be. Perhaps it could have prevented me from taking on a job that I was so wholey unsuited for. After an OK start things sure went steadily downhill. Looking back at it now, I really can't believe some of the atrocious things I did wrong in the capacity of a hogwan clown. Some things would include:

- Refusing to lie on report cards. Can you believe that? A white employee getting paid 2.0 / month thinking he has the right not to lie?

- Giving up on a class after being undermined when trying to take any disciplinary measures whatsoever, and letting them do whatever they want.

- Buying and bringing my own materials to use with the better classes because the hogwan's were such crap.

- Giving wongjongnim-babo an ultimatum.

- Acting upon said ultimatum.

- Using a Korean friend and a list of the parents' phone numbers to extort a letter of release from wongjongnim-babo.

Indeed, I would like to consider myself a contender for worst clown ever. Anyone think they can top that?

Laughing

too true, too true.

Happy New Year.

Can't top it, but I have surely been in the same boat, and not just in my first year. It's amazing how much things change after the first month at a new school.

ME: Kindergarten? wha..?

Wjnm: Yeah, only 4 classes yet though.

Shocked
