We told her over the phone. We emailed her. We wrote it on the envelope in which we handed over our passports and photos. Yet, somehow, our travel agent forgot our travel dates. We went to pick up our visas for Vietnam and they are for January 16th to February 16th. Our flight is for February 1st with return February 28th. Since she claims that she cant get us a new visa within our time constraints and its impossible for us to get to the embassy ourselves I was wondering, hoping, praying, that someone out here in the ether has done a visa extension in Vietnam and will tell me how terribly cheap and easy it is to do. Help. Anyone.

Thanks.

Well, in Ho Chi Minh City in 2004 I bought a month extension for $25 USD, no problem, just had to hand over the passport, for a few days I think. I think almost any travel agency will do that, maybe even faster than mine took.

Monday is the 22nd. You're leaving the 1st. How many days does it take to get a visa for Vietnam? I'd call the embassy and find out what can be done, then I'd get the travel agent to take care of it. What travel agent are you using, anyway?

It's easy enough to buy another month in VN. Not a problem. Ask on the VN forum.

The travel agent said that it would take at least seven business days from Monday to get this done which is not compatible with our travel schedule. From what you all have said, and what we've read, getting an extension seems to be our best option. And, of course, getting a new travel agent.
Thanks for your help.
