The boys from the United States defeated Sweden on their home ice on New Year's Eve.

It looks like the U.S. has a good team this year. Sweden is a tough team to beat. |

The U.S. has played very well and I wish I was there to see some of the games. The great thing is is that many of these young players will go on to play in the NHL from Sweden, the U.S. and a few other countries. I've always liked going to junior hockey games back home.
A good team for the U.S. and only lost to Canada through penalty shots. Both teams played very well making hockey truly an exciting game. |

Ice hockey is definitely one contact sport that is far better viewing in attendance near the glass than from the couch at home. Too bad a lot of spring time hockey fans don't know that.
And may I take this precious moment to say to my alma mater: Go Big Red! Go Badgers!
Let's win yet another NCAA championship.
College hockey is much better than pro hockey because they actually skate more than fight. |
