I'm not trying to generalize or bash recruiters...I'm sure there are some good honest ones out there but I just wanted to share some of my honest experiences and opinions about them.
Most recruiters I have dealt with were snakes. Most will lie through their teeth and proclaim how great a school or boss is just to get that recruitment fee. It's understandable that they are just trying to make a living but their morals and business practices are questionable. They will recruit unqualified teachers to shady undesireable schools and we wonder why so many people in the ESL industry in Korea have problems. They usually don't know enough information about the teachers or the schools to properly inform either side of potential problems or unacceptable conditions. I really don't understand why more schools just don't bypass the recruiters, save their money, and post job ads themselves. It would make things a whole lot easier and benefit everyone especially the kids and students. |
