When we first arrived in Korea, everything was new and bizarre. The strange little things - the cultural differences- that made you laugh or have one of those moments came thick and fast. Over time, we lose that initial wonder and surprise; our lives be come more mundane and we forget...

This thread is to remember those first moments that we all had...

Smoking in Toilets: This is a bizarre habit of Koreans. A friend advised me to go and smoke in the toilet. It was like a smoking room at the airport. I smoked outside in the fresh air instead.

Bowing at Department Stores: Makes you feel a bit like a king, huh?

Oseo-O-ship-si-o!!:
First time I ever entered a Hof, I thought there was a fight about to erupt. Turns out they were just happy we had arrived.

Feel free to add some of your own...
