|
|
This is my first full year in Korea and Im confuse about filing my taxes. I've heard several different stories of what form to file. Someone mentioned Turbo tax is the way to go, I just plus in the information.
Anyone used this before?
I've been told to file a 1040 along with a 1116 (foreign income form). I downloaded those and its very confusing.
Also isnt it true US citizens dont have to pay tax for the first 2-years in Korea? Do I still have to file, my boss gave me a mountain of paperwork and I dont know where to begin. I told him general affairs could file it for me if he wanted it done. (like last year)
Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

I have used Turbo Tax online a few times before. However, l have been unable to figure out how to claim the foreign income deduction. It may not be possible. |

Go to the irs.gov website after January 16.
You can file online for free using online programs similar to Turbo Tax (Turbo Tax is just one brand you can choose from). There are literally hundreds of programs similar to Turbo Tax available to choose from on the site and if you don't like the way one of them is going, just don't finalize it and try another. |
