How hard is it to get back your key money before your housing contract is up?
I paid my own and am now thinking of moving out (of Korea) 7 months before my housing contract is up. |

Good luck. Many people can't get their key money back even when their contract is up unless someone else is ready to move in. I've heard this story many times. The landlord doesn't have the cash until the next rentor drops his deposit.
If you found someone to move into your place and they had key money, you could probably sweet talk your landlord. |

You have a challenge on your hands.
Your best bet is to find someone to move in before you start discussing getting your money back from the landlord.
Unless you do that, (as I understand the law) the landlord is entitled to keep your money until the lease is up. |
