I have a Geforce 6800 and it was working through my TV fine (tv for movies, LCD for desktop), however since my recent computer problems (not video card related, but a lot of the drivers got messed up). i can't seem to get it working.
Even when i open the NVIDIA control panel and go the CHANGE DISPLAY CONFIGURATION there is only the one option
1. Only use one display (single).
I can't remember what i did last time, i have reinstalled the driver (back to the older one that worked before).
Any ideas?

I think we need to know more about what happened to your computer.
I too use an older GeForce to connect through our TV to watch movies, and have never had a problem. I use S-VHS to connect the TV as it hasn't any kind of computer out connector.
When you re-installed your old driver (what number was that driver?), did you do an uninstall of the current driver first? The latest driver will work for what you want to do, and that should be the one to go with.
Anyhow, some details as to what happened to the system may be beneficial, otherwise, it sounds like it's just a bad driver installation. |

What went wrong is when i tried to install some new ram i did not seat it properly and it made the system go a bit crazy, lost a few drivers, and crashing alot after the new drivers were installed, did a search and it sounded like it was a graphics card driver problem. I followed the instructions and it has been fine since, apart from no tv.
The driver i am using is 91.47_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql.exe the thing that gets me tho is there just does not seem to be the option to turn multi displays on

I had something like this happen to my GeForce Go on my laptop after I upgraded the drivers. It was working fine and then after installing the new drivers it refused to work. Have you tried going back to a restore point before this happened?
Alternatively you can go into the GeForce setting tab and go to the Tools section where there is a button called Detect Displays. This or some other setting here might be your problem. You should check Nvidia's website as they have a good trouble shooting section.
