Pakistanis among terrorists killed, caught in Somalia fighting
PARIS: Ethiopias Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said in an interview published on Tuesday that suspected terrorists from Canada, Britain, Pakistan and elsewhere have been among those taken prisoner or killed in the military operations in Somalia.
Zenawi was quoted by French newspaper LeMonde as saying that he didnt know the exact number of prisoners in Somalia because it changed constantly. But many international terrorists are dead in Somalia, Meles was quoted as saying.
Photographs have been taken and passports from different countries have been collected. The Kenyans are holding Eritrean and Canadian passport holders. We have injured people coming from Yemen, Pakistan, Sudan, the United Kingdom.

You know, this so called "Prime Minister" repeatedly over the last year has said there are "thousands" of foreign fighters, waging war alongside the Islamists. At one point he mentioned 8,000 if I recall and also at one point, "hundreds" killed.
It is all so blatant disinformation. There may well be a few foreign fighters, just as there sure as hell are American Marines in Ethiopia, if not in Somalia (always with the so called, "advisor" label.
But all this nonsense and reports are just innuendo. Meant to stir up American support and feed the American public. The recent air strikes by Americans were probably called in by Ethiopia, meant to give the Americans something they knew they wanted. In turn, the Americans green light it because it justifies escalation and makes it seem like "the war on terror" is still aflame. In the meantime, innocents die. But hey, "that's far away and they are Somali.
The only foreigners to my knowledge are Oromo fighters. They have not produced once speck of evidence other than a photo of 3 fighters, dead fighters which is hard to discern, where the hell they are from. This despite saying they captured "hundreds" of foreign fighters. Poppycock.
And let's also state the obvious. Somalia is not a "closed" society. Many Somali travel extensively as traders and many have foreign passports. This does not equal, "foreign fighter."

My understanding is there are no Marines on the ground in Somalia, it is all taking place from above using gunships. There are however Hundreds of US Military advisor's in Ethiopia and other African Nations. Sit back and watch.
