|

Hi!
I've had a dream for a long time of travelling around Asia teaching as I go. I really want to stay in Korea and Japan and maybe China and Vietnam. I've finished my job here in Australia and now I'm ready to travel (perhaps after doing CELTA).
My dream was shot down though when I looked into visa requirements for Korea (and Japan). It seems it's impossible to teach a few months here and a few months there. It seems to be either 12 months or summer/winter camps.
I asked some others about doing short-term work and they all say "just quit your contract". Is that really how it's done?
I'm not comfortable with the idea of signing a contract for 12 months and then bailing after just two or three.
Any advice? Are there any employers who don't mind if you quit? (Assuming I'm not looking for a contract that includes a flight)
What I really want to do is a working holiday but it seems you can't teach English on a working holiday visa? And perhaps there aren't any short term jobs even if you could?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm still trying to keep the dream alive!
Thanks! |

A year isn't really that long. Why not work in Korea for a year and save save save, and then use that money to travel? |

Thanks Mea, you're probably right. But I'm getting old (25)! Every year counts now! |
