I am pretty new to this, so sorry for this simple question.
Can I burn AVI files to cd-r? I have a compressed dvd rip I want to burn. It's 750MB. I don't think I need a dvd burner, do I?
I guess I need to find a high capacity cd-r? Am I right?
Thanks. |

You can burn any data you wish to a cd-r. |

700 mb is usually the maximum for a CD, anything larger and you probably need a DVD-R. You don't need a DVD or CD burner but you do need a CD-/+RW or DVD-/+RW drive in your computer. |

Just get 870MB cds; they are just as cheap as the 700mb! |

"Burner" = CD-/+RW or DVD-/+RW drive |

AVI files have tended to reduce in size during burning for me. Not much but I usually got a 715-720 mb'er onto a CD.
Oh, also look for a program called, "Cucusoft" It splices your video where you want it. So, two 400mb files for an 800 mb'er.
It may be shareware or packed. Have a search for it. |

For 'over-burning' I use Nero. Works for me. |
