| Have any of you seen the latest episode of My Name is Earl? Doesn't this episode strike you as being very similar to Trailer Park Boys? |

It's a whole new cross-medium genre: white trash humour. There's those television shows, there's novels (Van Niekerk's Triomph), there's everything.
It's redneck chic! |

| I'm getting caught up on My Name is Earl and it still seems very far from Trailer Park Boys. Maybe it's just because I know "Earl" is really spending thousands of dollars getting aliens exorcised from his body, and the Trailer Park Boys really aren't that far of a stretch from life in that area. |

Check the latest episode. Without revealing too much, it's very 'Trailer Park Boys'-ish. |

I'll watch "My Name is Earl", but it rarely makes me laugh outloud...
However, The Office, which is on the same night, is always thoroughly entertaining. |

| What I love about My Name Is Earl is how the motel pool started off so blue and clean and as the season went on the water got greener and greener, but they never really drew attention to it until near the end of the season when someone had to go in the pool. |

MNIE is sanitized for the hypocritical American bible thumpers
who make up the mainstream of TV watching, mindless zombies
that power the USA into the greatness it enjoys today. TPB does
not have to contend with azz kissing network execs who pretend
that America still has values. There are a lot of scumbags in
Canada and they[Canucks] are not afraid of admitting it. Of course
it could be that the USA relies on hard statistics in order to scour
its TV content in order to maximize their profits. Good for them.
Maybe Canada should do the same and then they wouldn't have
to rely on government handouts to actually make a TV show.
However, "That 70's Show" relies a lot on pot related content. So
what is the deal there? |

I saw another episode of My Name is Earl last night in which he meets Joy's mom who's in a wheelchair. At some point in the episode he catches her getting out of her chair, and I immediately thought "Ricky's dad." I think it's obvious they're taking notes from Trailer Park Boys, exorcising the body thetans, and putting what's left on air.
Does it really matter that Trailer Park Boys earns less profits than My Name is Earl? Canadian shows automatically have a tenth the audience of American shows, probably less. |

Huh? I don't know how you could mistake them as British. |

Trailor Park Boys was (it may still be) on BBC at the international level, but it is a Canadian show based in Nova Scotia. Everything about the show is homemade and at times is ridiculously funny. |
