|
|
Hello! Has anyone on here personally used the recruiter ATC (Avail Teachers Consulting)? And can you tell me anything about them and your experience, good or bad? Are they to be used, and trusted? And, most importantly, how is/was the hogwan that you were placed at? Was it great and all that you expected, were told, or not?
Please post here, or PM me - thank you! |

Very happy with their service.
Placed me at a good school.
Others will tell you otherwise though. |

I used ATC for my current job in Korea and I'm nearing the end of my one year contract. I asked for help finding another job, but found one on my own!!!
They were great and picked me up from the airport, took me to my apartment, and I even got to see some of the ATC peeps at my orientation. I would recommend them...
As for hagwon, I wouldn't know...I was placed with a public school...
Good luck! |

I applied last November with ATC with no reply. They totally ignored me. Perhaps becuase I am not a 20 something year old, but rather a 30 something year old. My only guess as to why they ignored me. Time waster. Same for Footprints who would not arrange a flight after having passed 2 hours of phone interviewing.
When looking for a job, just shop, shop, and shop some more, but do not take too much time (2 weeks max) once you have your applications out there and you are talking with people. |

The job I got through them is great, but the service was not so great.
Let me explain:
1. I was teaching in China and had to go to Shenyang to get my E-2. I tried to ask the Visa clerk to make sure my E-2 was set for multiple entry; she had no idea what I was saying. So, I call Lynn at ATC and ask her to call them and make sure. She says, no worries, Americans always get multiple entry status, so no need to call. A week later I get a single entry visa.
2. The letters of recommendation I worked 2 years for have disappeared into the bowels of the Gyeonngido Board of Education, and again I asked Lynn to help me get them back. She said yeah, no problem, and haven't heard back from her since (about a month ago). She never told me that my LORs would be kept indefinitely. I'm still trying to get those back...
3. She was always very vague on the phone. I was feeling pressure cuz I thought I had to be there by March 5th. I finally pried it out of her that the school dates were pushed back, and so was training.
Again the job is great, but I would I make sure to stick to your guns if you feel something isn't right (my entry status). I followed my instincts, but believed them too much. |

Wow, you guys seem to have had rough experiences...I worked with Jasmine (actually I was her first recruit) and she helped me through everything! Actually, she was just really awesome and had helped me with everything every step of the way. She even called me when she said she was going to call and went out of her way to make sure I was settled in.... |
