Has anyone seen this piece of crap?
I heard a few good things about it and happened to see it in the DVD shop this weekend. On the strength of rumor, I bought the first season, brought it home and have watched the first 4 episodes so far and am finding it increasingly hard to restrain myself from throwing the DVD, the DVD player and the TV off my 5th floor balcony. I feel cheated.
Just so you know why I feel cheated:
a) The two main characters are brothers who just happen to have different names.
b) One of them is framed for killing the VP's brother
c) He's sentenced to die and put in a prison which just happened to be designed (or redecorated) by his architectural engineer brother. (This is in Illinois where capital punishment is on hold till it gets straightened out--the last I heard.)
d) Who framed the bad brother? The Secret Service, that's who. They make no bones about killing witnesses.
e) To save the bad brother the good brother decides to get himself incarcerated in the same prison so he can break him out.
f) In prison, the soon-to-be executed bad brother gets out of his cell every day to paint the halls, where he can talk to his good brother. Sometimes he's kept separate, but other times he's just one of the gang.
g) The good brother's defense lawyer is the ex-girlfriend of the bad brother. That happens all the time. I know lawyers have ethics problems, but this coincidence is one too many.
Question: Is it possible to sue Fox Network for being insulting to one's intelligence? |

Mate, you ain't seen nothing yet. I continue to watch that show just to marvel further at how dumb it assumes I must be. It's like Days of Our Lives with blood-letting. Season 2 really ups the impossibility ante. |

I know what you mean..
A TV show with impossible coincidences and unlikely plot twists? WTF?
(I bet you were stabbing your eyeballs when you watched Star Wars. WHAT IS THAT? I've never heard of Tatooine!) |

Season 1 was somewhat feasible... sorta... maybe... ok, maybe not. But if you think that's bad, wait until you've seen season 2. Complete garbage. Prison break should have lasted 1 season, and 1 season only... I was surprised when the end of the series didn't come with them breaking out of prison.
Season 2 brings boring characters (that Gyopo Korean guy especially), a stretched out plot, blahsee storyline with twists you can see miles away... and which don't impress the least. I think it was meant to only last one season, but they used an alternative storyline due to good ratings. Now the show has gone even more downhill (if you can imagine that). |

Thanks for the spoilers, from last year! I couldn't resist clicking on this thread and was sure you were going to ruin the upcoming episodes for me.
Actually, I love this show. But I also get choked up every time I watch the end of Armageddon (at least a plausible movie) when Harry says goodbye to Grace. I guess my entertainment standards aren't high. Please don't take me off your hero list! |

Hey wait!!! Who are you to make all these generalizations about a tv show and then have the audacity to make judgments!?! Have you ever met someone who has been in a maximum security prison? Someone on death row? I didn't think so. Maybe they do go wander around the prison unsupervised in groups. Have you ever met a guy who hid the complete blueprints of a prison in his full body tatoo? Aha! I bet you haven't. How do you know this couldn't be done??? Have you ever known a secret service agent who is involved in a government conspiracy that involves multiple murders? Well, if you haven't, then who are you to judge? I heard someone tried to assasinate the real VP's brother last year on a hunting trip, but the VP got him first. So as far as I'm concerned, the premise of the show is all based on fact.
...I bet you don't know any real Koreans either! |

I tried to get into the series when it started, but I don't know...didn't see enough hot girls and was starting to look gay.
Lost had more going for it (any Lost fans out there?). |

Good news first: You are still on my list.
Bad news: I won't tell you which list you are on.
At one time I thought I had fairly high entertainment standards but those went out the window when I came to Korea and ended up with access to only Santa Barbara and Baywatch for 5 years. When I realized that I thought Pam Anderson was greatly underestimated as an actress, I knew my future as an entertainment critic was in danger.
I know anecdotal experiences are not acceptable in a debate, but I do know that when my mom was on death row they wouldn't let her out to mix with the gen pop. Fortunately for her she was given a last minute pardon by the governor because the Masons need her in their plan to take over the world. (She helps design the secret codes on the new dollar bills.)
[I put 'Spoilers' in the title because someone got reamed for two days for revealing the winner of Survivor. Wouldn't want that to happen.] |

Its stupid fun, all the characters perfectly one dimensional for the actors who play them. Smart brother, dumb brother, redneck sex offender, italian mob boss guy, steet tough black guy with heart of gold, corrupt prison guard guy, doctor who falls for smart brother (heres the twist, she is a drug addict!) Really the thing that always bothers me with it is how impossibly quick everyone heals from life threatening wounds. Dumb brother got his *ssbeat with a lead pipe in one episode then the next episode which was supposed to represent like 2 days later, he looked fine. I still catch it when I can though, stuff like this is fun so long as you know its retarded. Its kinda like pro wrestling that way. |

YES!! That's the kind of thing I mean. In one episode already the Smart Brother got two toes cut off and is walking around in shoes either the same day or the next day.
I figure I'm out W60,000 because you guys who already knew this show is tripe didn't post on here. |

Dewd why on earth would you pay 60k for a TV show in this day and age? Don't you know about bittorrent?
And now I shall intercept incoming criticism: the distributors need to lower their damn prices. 60k for a TV show is stupid when a movie is 1/4 that price. |
