|
|
Hi,
I was just wondering here if anyone could tell me how mp3 players for cars work. I "heard" a story about someone who had one that could store 1200 songs or something. I went to a "Car Audio" shop in Korea. They said they have mp3 players that read mp3s off CD-ROMs (not that expensive) and there are mp3 players that read the mp3s off a USB memory stick (about 350 000 won)
Is there no such thing as an mp3 player that actually stores the mp3s? |

You can by an in-car adaptor that allows you to play your MP3 through the car's stereo. I have one, its called a Car Pack. I just put the cassette into the player and off I go. |

my last car (in korea) had a CD player that recognised mp3s and wmas ... i'd load up a few hundred mp3s on a CD and it'd play them.
i'm sure they're not that expensive.
ipods also have a wireless receiver that allows you to pick them up via a standard FM radio. or you could go the 'cassette' option as an adaptor.
personally, i'd go the CD/mp3 player ... |

Sound quality is diminished, IMHO. Mine plays MP3 from my 4gig flash drive I have about 1200 or so songs on it! |

Best Xmas present since I was about 12 years old. This adapter has not only entertained me while I drive, it has actually changed the way I drive. My wife got it for me online - cheap as chips. |

My car - a Scion XB, has a port where the MP3 player plugs in via a cable. For a genuine IPOD you can control the player with the radio/cd but for a non-ipod you have to use the MP3 player to control the functions. many newer cars have this port available. |

I like my setup - I ran off to Lottemart and picked up an adapter for my mp3 player that doesn't even need a cassette player - it links to a radio frequency (approx 20,000 won). I used to have the cassette kind till it fried the player. anyway both lottemart and emart have them in with the car toys. |
