Pretty sure it was always 30 days. Has been since 2003 anyway...You then applied for your E2 and then got 90 days until it became valid and you got your alian card.

Definately not six months. 30 days for tourists.

Americans I think get 90 days.

Canadians apparantly get a whopping six months

It has always been 30 (one month, so it could be 31 days) days.

As far as I know, there is a reciprocal agreement and both Korea and UK give the other's citizens 90 days.

Whenever my wife has travelled with me, she always gets 180 days and the most recent ocasion was in December.

Yikes. Quite a range of responses.
A friend of mine had his director check into it, and was told it would be 1month. We've looked at the immi website, but couldn't locate the answer.

Just to be clear: are you talking about Koreans touring UK or Brits touring Korea?

Brits touring Korea.

I found the answer.

It's 90 days. But according to my friend's director, this changed recently, so the website, and espo's experience, could be outdated.

Brits get 90 days, as do other EU citizens. http://www.immigration.go.kr/HP/IMM80/imm_04/imm_p01/vm1.jsp

There is no "visa waiver program" for US citizens and they get 30 days.

That concurs with my experiences too. I have always being given 90 days and my Korean friend was given 90 days when we went to the UK.
