It's hilarious!

I just saw yesterday, CNN did a short mention of the show and showed a couple clips.

The show is reverse discrimination. Stupid white folks and smart muslim folks.

If the show was other way around, I wonder what would happen. Another law suit perhaps?

I am not at all surprised that this show, on the pathetic cbc, seems to center on a plotline of stupid whites, and the noble muslims who deal with them. In reality, the problem is that the non-muslims know far too much about islam as it actually is, and this is an attempt to reassert the PC "religion of peace" garbage that has been undone in recent years.

haven't been to SK?

And it IS stupid: Didn't the writer, a muslim woman, know that there IS no such thing as a handsome, noble muslim?

All muslims are idiots. So this show should portray them as idiots.

Good lord you guys sound bright.

I've been following some debates over this show on other forums. It's interesting that people who criticise it are being called racists and xenophobes. I remember when the word "xenophobe" could be used to describe a person who hates Muslims. Apparently now it can be used to describe anyone who disagrees with a Muslim.

I have no problem with people saying "It's not funny", or even the general "It's not a good show".
Problem is that when people complain about the show saying "it portrays muslims as reasonable human beings" (which is EXACTLY what is being done on this forum and, I don't doubt, others) as an argument against the show, you invite comments about prejudice. And why not?

People who hate Will and Grace because it "glorifies sexual immorality" are all boneheads; people who hate LMOTP because it "makes muslims look like good people" are boneheads.

The last time that the Mother Corp took a leap of this magnitude was with 'Kids in the Hall', and that was a while ago. If the promos are any indication, this could be a humorous, politically incorrect, not to say timely, breath of fresh prairie air.

Because we all know TV has never shown minorities in a negative light. And actually showing them as the protagonist is obviously discrimination.

Hey, thanks for clearing up that "two wrongs make a right" debate for me. Apparently, they do.

What "two wrongs"? I think he was addressing the issue that Muslims were show to be competent respectful people; that IS, after all your main problem with the show right?
