For this survey, I am asking for an explantion for your choice as well.

I included some cities that people might not consider to be a true suburb (Incheon), but it is an option over living in Seoul.

The best suburn I've seen in Seoul was about 2 years ago. This pale Canadian guy. He had a party on his apartment roof in summer time and passed out in his reclining beach style type of middle of the road utensil chair. He went from being white as a ghost to being red as a tomato in the matter of about an hour in a half.

You know, I actually looked for a good sunburn picture for about five minutes last night until I decided that I was wasting my time. Embarassed That's a good one you've got there though.

I vote Bucheon.

Some parts are rich, and some are not. You can live cheap in the poor part and travel to the rich part in less than 10 minutes.

25 minutes to Yongsan by express train. The girls are cute. Less plastic and fake than Kangnam or Bundang. A little cleaner than Seoul. You can go into Incheon quickly without having to live there.

I just got a place here. Good size, 2 million down, 230,000 a month. I could have gotten it for 200,000 a month if I put down 5 million.

There's an E-mart right at the station, a small Kyobo book store, decent bus service, some parks, a waterfall, mountains.

i haven't lived in many suburbs. only ilsan and anyang.

i loved ilsan. i lived walking distance to at least 3 huge supermarkets (lotte mart, nonghyeop, carrefour....). i rode my bike everywhere, even to lake park every morning. very convenient. i liked going to the la festa shopping center in jeongbalsan for dinner, shopping.

took 30-40min by bus to shinchon. a little far, but not too bad.

i saw this guy fall asleep on top of a roof in haebongchon and his whole side got roasted. it was weird because the shadows and stuff got burned into his face.

one time my nose got burned so bad that the skin seperated from it and filled with this gross yellow liquid.

I noticed that, but I'm having to agree with your classification. Those ones (Anyang, Incheon, Suwon... even Ansan) are increasingly becoming less like distinct cities and more like suburbs of Seoul. I hate that, though. If I had my way, everyone outside of the city limits would be forced to travel to the capital on donkey-back or ox-back...

(Hey, is that Itaewonguy up there?)

And you'd take this road...

But if you had lots of money and wanted to arrive in style, you could take mass transit ...

I'm with you JongnoGuru- also, what's the point in having all these East Gates and South gates if we don't lock them to keep the proles out at night?

Interestingly enough, from Incheon you can go into Bucheon quickly without having to live there...

...but of course that doesn't really answer why anyone would choose to live in either city compared to some of the other satellite cities you've listed.

Just, in my opinion, Bucheon is far superior to Incheon. A heck of alot cleaner, closer to Seoul, and more interesting.

I found some areas of Incheon to have an interesting outlay, and good to see once, but not a place I would want to live. Just maybe...see it once, and I am satisfied.

Inchon is pretty large- you might be surprised to learn that it consists of more than just Bupyong and DongInchon.
