I have never been to the gym. I just happened to find this website a while ago.
Cheers. |

| That place looks cool. Do you know anything about the lessons there? Do they do Kendo and Iaido every day together, or do they alternate days? Just wondering if you happened to know.. |

That place looks great. I shudder to think how much it will be to ship my bogu, shinai, and iaito from the states though |

| Welcome Boatofcar, I see that you are from Newport News. I am from Williamsburg. Actually, I used to live in Newport News as well, down off of Warwich Blvd. Anyway, welcome to Korea. |

| I too live off Warwick Blvd! Up by Ft. Eustis, a development called Lee's Mill. I'm coming to Korea in August, after the school year here is over. I currently teach at Magruder Primary, downtown. |

| Yes, I know Lee's Mill. We lived a bit farther down, a little bit past Warwick High School, directly behind the Go-Ho Auto Audio, if you know where that is. Small world. |

If you want a Korean style, try http://www.ghgd.org/
This place teaches both the sport form and the Iaido style. The grandmaster is also a 7th dan in Hapkido.
As for the first gym I posted, I am pretty sure they do a mix. However, just get a Korean to call and ask. Be careful asking Korean gyms "do you teach..." They always say "yes". Its best to ask them what they teach.
With regards to equipment, you can buy most stuff cheaply in Korea. The body armour runs from about US$350 to however much you wish to pay. http://kumdokorea.co.kr/ |

| I'm actually more interested in continuing iaido than kendo. Do you know how much does will a cheap iaito will cost me? I'm not looking for anything fancy, just one balanced well. |

| I have just finished speaking to a (Korean) Kumdo guy. He said a real sword starts at about US$300 and goes up to several thousand. He also said that you need to have it registered with the Police - he has one so I assume this information is correct. I have heard of foreigners who own them so I assume the registration part is possible. |
