Is there anyone that can recommend a good hotel in Krabi? There are many online but they all begin to look and sound the same. Anyone with some first hand experience? On the beach and close to some sights.

I've never liked the mainland of Krabi.
Ao Nang beach isn't very nice at all.

I prefer Phuket or Ko Pha Ngan. Ko Pha Ngan's actually good because then you can easily hit all 3 islands in the Gulf: Samui, Tao and Pha Ngan.

And when I'm in Phuket I can scoot over to Ko Phi Phi to do some nice snorkelling.

Yeah, but overall and comparitively speaking, Krabi just wasn't that nice for me. Not as pretty.

I tried giving it a chance and visited 3 or 4 times. But each time I regretted making the trip and wasting my time.

On the other hand, here's Ko Phi Phi and Bamboo Island.
