Apple argues they're two different products. Cisco is voice over IP. Apple is cell. Sure they're phones but... very different phones and like no one is ever gonna confuse them. It's a bit like why Apple can use Apple at the same time as Apple Records. Cisco argues, I think rightly, that convergence is inevitable. Apple iPhone will probably do voice over IP and the Cisco iPhone will eventually do cell... And then we're gonna get confusion. It's now a bit like how Apple promised Apple Records that it would only be a computer company and would never do music, hence there would never be any confusion between the trademarks. Of course computers and music converged. |
