| My fiancee and I are planning to get married on a beach in Ko samui, and although we have been to thailand numerous times as tourists, would like to hear from some people who had their wedding there. The resorts seem to charge a lot for their services, a lot for thailand, and I wonder if it's worth it. Weddings cost an arm and leg in in the UK, and the idea of a beach wedding is very appealing. Any experiences? |

If both you and your fiance are British subjects the process is fairly straight forward. If you are of different nationalities the process becomes more complicated.
It works fine to have a ceremony at your desired location and then file all the needed paperwork in Bangkok. This is a general statement as if you have all the background paperwork you can file the final stuff in the providences. |

| I'm Australian, he's British. We're going to get the formalities out of the way by having a civil ceremony here first and have the actual wedding in thailand. I was more interested in people's experience of getting married in a Thai resort, the arrangements they had, and what they thought of the services provided. |
