I color my hair red, I do it about every 2 months, and I use 2 boxes each time. So if I'm here a year, I need 12 boxes. My sister will ship it to me, but the post office won't ship it because it has both bleach and ammonia in it. So it has to go the spendy way (DHL/FedEx/UPS). My haircolor only costs about $5-6 a box, so I'm not too worried about duty, I'm most worried about whether they'll let it thru customs at all. ??? I was thinking of having her ship all 12 boxes at once, but is there a limit to how many boxes they'll let in (at once?) Or should I just have her do 6 boxes? I think not coloring my hair could be the death of me...
My hairdresser in the states told me that Korea doesn't allow anything stronger than 20volume haircolor. Well, mine's 20volume, so it should be ok. She also wrote down my formula in case I can get it done at an Aveda salon. I'm down in Yeosu, so coming to Seoul every two months is not the easiest thing in the world, but I suppose it's possible if that 's the way I have to do it. My roots are starting to bother me, so pretty soon I'll be in a panic. LOL.
Thanks. |

I use to dye my hair red and faced the same problem when I came here. I did find a store in Myeong-dong that sold Feria red. I used it and liked the color which turned out much brighter than I was used to. I think it is designed to work on black hair not the strawish color hair I had at the time. It was about 11,000 won which when you think about it is about what your boxes of dye would end up costing after mailing costs. I have stopped dying my hair all together though. PM if you would like directions to the store, I think I could give them. |
