Just something I've noticed: When someone asks a question about something, for example, "Where would one find a tanning salon in Seoul?" Many people provide some great information, however, there are others that want to argue what the person is asking for. With the tanning bed thing, I noticed that some gave some good information that's very useful to the parties concerned, but then others feel it's their duty to preach to the question asker and try to tell them that they are foolish for wanting to go to a tanning place.

Or someone will ask about where to buy a Mac computer.. instead of answering, some people will just respond with, "Why would you want to do that?"

Who gives a crap? If someone has a question or problem, then help them solve the problem, don't try to vent your views on what they're asking for! It seems like many people have too much time and just sit around arguing with everyone. A debate is one thing, but if someone asks a simple question, don't critisize them for wanting an answer!

Can't we all get along? After all, Monday IS Dr. King day (in the USA anyway.)

Smile

I see you joined up in mid-Oct. Maybe that isn't long enough to pick up on just how many dysfunctional people there are here. I use the word 'people' very loosely.

It seems like dysfunction is the standard.. It's fun to play around on the message boards, but sometimes people get slaughtered for asking simple questions. It can be entertaining, but at the same time, it'd be nice to build a community rather than simply snipe.

You seem normal enough.. whatever that means! lol..

A lot of people use forums as a form of escape. They like the anonymity of the internet, which allows them to express themselves freely (although with gatherings etc., people get a lot less anonymous).

There are two, three, four sides to each and every one of us, and some of them (totally not including me because I am pretty much the same here and IRL) like to be perceived as a tough person, or a dysfunctional person or whatever..

K,

Reasons for people being judgemental fools here:

1. Some people are immature and love that fact that they and their comments are "invisible".
2. They've secretly always wanted a career in either debating or below-the-belt comedy.
3. They have nothing better to do.
4. They are intoxicated.
5. They are just plain MEAN and this gives them an avenue of expression.

That's how I see things just far and I have just recently joined this forum...
To be honest, I was kinda disgusted by some of the responses to my few postings, but I get the "deal" here now...

- If you put yourself out there in cyberspace, you allow yourself and your worlds to be misconstrude, twisted, spit out and stepped on.
Don't forget, turned into something not even sexual, but smarmy...

Kinda makes me want to gargle when I read some stuff... Shocked

But it's so easy.

Quote:
An American, a Scot and a Canuk were in a terrible car accident. They were all brought to the same emergency room, but all three of them died before they arrived. Just as they were about to put the toe tag on the American, he stirred and opened his eyes. Astonished, the doctors and nurses present asked him what happened.

"Well," said the American, "I remember the crash, and then there was a beautiful light, and then the Canadian and the Scot and I were standing at the gates of heaven. St. Peter approached us and said that we were all too young to die, and that for a donation of $100, we could return to the earth."

He continued, " So of course, I pulled out my wallet and gave him the $100, and the next thing I knew I was back here."

"That's amazing!" said one of the doctors, "But what happened to the other two?"

"Last I saw them," replied the American, "the Scot was haggling over the price and the Canadian was waiting for the government to pay for his."

The dysfunctionality (is that even a word?) is caused by ___

a. Jews
b. Moslems
c. liberals
d. all of the above

(Yes, only 'd' is correct.)

Unless you can understand why sending the lyrics of a song about Jews being gassed at Bergen-Belsen is funny, I don't think you can understand the level of sophisticated, worldly, insightful posts on this forum. If this level of humor escapes you, then perhaps you are a loser (or a 'looser' as many here like to spell it).

This might help: Imagine a FOB newbie, 22 hours after moving out of Mom and Dad's basement for the first time in their life, sitting in their first shoe box Korean apartment, a little sweaty, IQ 86.5, saliva dripping down their chin, thinking, "Hmmmm, what can I do to entertain myself? No TV to speak of. No books closer than a 3 hour bus ride followed by an hour on the subway...Oh, I know! I'll go on the internet and be verbally aggressive. That has never been thought of before. The creativity of it all will astound people and will attract friends like flies to honey."

Because there are lot of people on here that like to antagonize others. Some are trolls, but the others are just sad people with nothing better to do with their lives.
