You punch in a number (at the above website) and there is a proviso/ warning/ qualifier:

No problem.
But what about this "employment insurance" thingy? Lastly, must I pay into a "national pension" program if I am American?
These two last items seem to allow a lot of wiggle room for skimming off the top of a paycheck if not better defined (better defined for me, that is; I am sure someone has defined them).

| Yeah you pay into the national pension as an american. It's cool though, your employer matches your contribution. You can apply to get all the money returned to you when you leave Korea. And, from what I understand you get to keep the matched portion too. |
