| Can anyone give me any info about Chungnam University in Daejeon, in reference to working conditions or students or any other experiences you may have had even with the city? |

Chungnam Nat'l is in the northern part of the city (Yusong/Daedok), one of the better parts of Korea to live in, in my opinion. Big broad streets, lots of trees and flowers. Not much air pollution.
It sits next to Koongdong, a night-life area for the students. Lots of restaurants and bars. Lots of bars. Next to that is KAIST, one of the better universities in the country.
Behind CNU and KAIST to the north is Daedok Science Town...filled with research institutes. So Yusong/Daedok is filled with highly educated people.
Daejon is fairly centrally located and a decent place to live and work. |

| CNU is the third largest university in Korea. Living in Daejeon is great. An easy train or bus ride to Seoul if needed, and you will have no regret about living in Daejeon. |

A friend worked there and hated it.. lol.
There were a lot of split shifts and overtime. If you don't mind that, then go for it. You also get farmed out to their unigwon, which is part of the uni but like a hagwon nonetheless.
Pak man, that's be cosTco... and it's actually quite far from CNU - about 30-40 mins by taxi, although a subway is STILL being constructed which will go between the two places.. but when the subway will finish is anybody's guess... |
